A Benefits Account Executive plays a crucial role in working alongside the Sales Producer ensuring employee benefits programs are effectively managed and administered to our clients.


Job Summary:


The Benefits Account Executive is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of our client’s employee benefits programs. This role involves a high degree of independence and discretion in decision making to work closely with clients to understand their needs, design customized benefits packages, develop additional lines of business, and ensuring smooth implementation and administration of the benefit plans.


Responsibilities:

  • Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for all matters related to maintaining their employee benefits plans.
  • Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of client needs and requirements to design tailored benefits packages that align with their goals and objectives.
  • Benefits Design: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to design comprehensive benefits programs, including health insurance, wellness initiatives, and other employee perks.
  • Implementation: Oversee the implementation of benefits programs, ensuring accurate enrollment processes, timely communication to employees, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communication: Possesses a strong ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, which will include the ability to design and deliver effective group presentations using various media. This may range from conducting an employee meeting to a sales or renewal presentation at a client’s office.
  • Administration: Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefits, including handling inquiries, resolving issues, and coordinating with vendors to deliver quality services with an account management team.
  • Compliance: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations governing employee benefits, ensuring that all programs are compliant, and that necessary reporting and documentation are maintained.
  • Consultation: Provide expert guidance and consultation to clients on benefit plan options, cost management strategies, and industry best practices.
  • Renewal Management: Lead the renewal process for benefits plans, including negotiating rates, evaluating plan performance, and recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Education and Communication: Develop and deliver employee education and communication materials to promote understanding and utilization of benefits programs.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Conduct periodic analysis of benefits utilization, costs, and employee satisfaction levels, and prepare reports for clients to support decision-making.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in benefits administration, preferably in a client-facing role.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits programs, specifically self-funding insurance and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA.
  • Certifications such as REBC (Registered Employee Benefits Consultant), CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) required.
  • Technology savvy, proficient in O365, webinars, CRM applications; HubSpot/Zoho/Salesforce, etc..
  • Carrier products: 3 years (Required)
  • License/Certification:
    • REBC Certification (Required)
    • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (Required)

Additional Details:

Hybrid. Office locations available in the East Valley or North Phoenix and Denver, Colorado, in addition to telecommuting.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Supplemental pay: Quarterly bonus
